Topic: RE: Just Stuck

I know how you feel, I had hit that brick wall, and it lasted about 6 months.  I didn't gain, but stopped losing.  I really thought that I had maxed out because I was at the one-year mark.  I finally stood back and took a good look and kicked everything up a notch and started losing again.  I wasn't being as good as I wanted to think I was about my eating.  I was pretty good about the exercise, but I kicked that up also.  Sometimes just chaging what you're doing for exercise helps too because your body gets "used to it."  Julie, your 6 week program is a great idea!  Is this something that you are going to run periodically, or is it a one-shot deal?  I can see that as something I will tap into down the road!

Hey Chris!

Firstly, journaling your food and exercise for at least a week. Then seeing your favorite Nutritionist with your journal. He/She can really help you figure out your intake/output and metabolism.

Secondly, I will be starting/running an intense six-week back-on-track program for people who are at an extended plateau and/or are gaining weight.

I will release details as soon as I have them. There will be a cost that insurance does not cover. There are materials that are necessary.

Again, I will release all this info as soon as I have it all put together.

Hope all is well, Hello to Lisa!!!

See you at the support group Wednesday!

Thank you Eldy..the positive reinforcement is definitely what I need to keep me going. I'm afraid of 'chickening' out..I really want this for ME and sometimes my anxiety keeps getting in the way of things with bad thoughts that I so much want to and do push out of my head but they keep popping back in!!

hey Melissa!  Congratulations on your choice for surgery.  Its a tough decision, but it can be the best one.  I will be one year out next month and it has been the absolulte best thing i have EVER done for myself.  Now, about the post op pain, I have found from listening to everyone all this time, that it is different for everyone.  I had quite a bit of pain and used the pain meds as needed ( big big help).  When I got home, I slept on my recliner for a couple of weeks.  I could not sleep in the bed cuz it would hurt when I  tried to move.  But other people have had no problem with sleeping and all.  Walking does not seem to increase the pain.  In fact, I would hurt more just sitting around.  The most important thing to remember and to use as a mantra is... pain is only temporary.  It will NOT last.  Once its over, its over.  You will be busy learning a whole new way to be you during this time.  So really, place most of your thoughts towards that.  Good luck to you and enjoy your new journey!!    Eldy

I'm only half a pound lighter in 11/2 months. I started doing Wii for activity and started journaling again. I'm not too upset because I know there are stalls along the way. I feel good now and I know I will feel good when I get the last 10-20lbs off. One Day at a Time. Best of luck to both of us!!!!!!~~~~~~~~Kim

I don't like pain..as much as the next person but am nervous about how much pain I'll be in after the surgery is performed and in recovery. I know it's laprascopic so there's no large incision but what is the pain like when you're recovering? Any words..good or bad..will be appreciated.
Thank you MUCH!

~Melissa
